WHAT IS INTERVENTION?
Intervention is the process by which a family works towards getting their loved one into treatment.
WHO NEEDS INTERVENTION?
Addicts and alcoholics who are resistant to treatment due to failed attempts. Addicts and alcoholics who are in denial of their problem. And those who refuse to accept the families assistance in making the choice to go to drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Why? Often times a family is not capable of communicating what is necessary to get their loved one to attend a treatment program. That is where an interventionist comes in and can make the difference. A professional intervention counselor can be hired to assist a family. Intervention comes in many forms and modalities and finding an intervention counselor willing to work within the family unit is very important. Intervention is designed to do what a family cannot get done by using gentle communication, understanding and the ability to overcome objections using logic and communication techniques that bring a person to the agreement that they must do something to handle their addiction.
HOW DO I CHOOSE AN INTERVENTIONIST
Choosing the right interventionist is key to getting the right result. There are many Intervention counselors in the United States but not every intervention counselor may be right for your family. As a family, making the decision to use a certain interventionist should be based on experience, success rate and ability to communicate with the addict/alcoholic. Our Interventionist are well versed in the different styles of intervention. Talk to us and together we will make a decision based on what you believe will work for your family member. Family intervention, the Johnston model and one on one intervention styles are available.
